Bomb Threat At Delhi Airport, Several Schools; Security beefed up (X/@DelhiAirport/TIN)
Delhi Bomb Threat: The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi received a bomb threat on Sunday. After the bomb threat, security was tightened and investigation process is underway.
“Police teams, fire personnel, and bomb disposal units were promptly deployed to the affected schools to carry out a search operation properly. However, nothing suspicious was found,” a DFS official told PTI.
Apart from the Delhi airport, two schools CRPF Public School in Dwarka, and a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar, received bomb threat emails, as per the officials. However, the bomb threat was later declared a hoax, as per the officials.
Apart from Delhi airport, Jammu airport also received a bomb threat via email today. Soon after the bomb threat, officials conducted the investigation process. However, nothing suspicious was found after the investigation conducted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
"An email was received by a private airliner this morning, and accordingly, a security drill in such situations was followed to rule out the presence of any explosive substance. The email was a hoax," an official of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) told PTI.
